Below are some of my favorite screen grabs from this year (so far). As the action sports season winds to an end I wanted to go through the frames I had pulled throughout the year and make a single post for them. All but one of these images is a frame from video captured on a RED Scarlet-X in 4kHD. None of them have a terrible lot of post work to them. Curves, an unsharp mask and usually that’s it. A few of them are just my stock in-camera look that I have as a default for all clips.

I have the privilege of producing all sorts of action sports and motorsports content for all types of outlets, and utilize my RED or Phantom for as much of it as I can. The RED is unique in it’s ability to be able to grab a high res frame from the motion stream that is actually usable, I love it. I do hate carrying it on my shoulder deep into the desert though.
